Did You Know That?

A friend shares a list of things we learned in 2005. Among them:

# 22) More teens consider IMs to be the prefered way to keep in touch daily, surpassing the use of cell phones.
# 33) Moody, Judy, and Rudy. The top three searches on ESPN in 2005? T.O., Caronlina Panther cheerleaders, and Notre Dame.
# 35) A new blog is created every second. We're wondering if the life span of half of those is longer than 2 posts.
# 37) Which toy causes the most violence among young girls? It's not a video-game.

The last two days, I've experimented with daily links using the del.icio.us thingy, thanks to tips from Fred Wilson - and also to Steve Rubel for pointing the tip out. It's very easy and doesn't take any extra time once it's set up

I don't know if I'll continue with the experiment yet, but I see several advantages for small businesses that blog:

Keep your customers updated on industry news that affects your market or industry.
With a short comment, the readers will have an idea on your perspective of the item.
Introduce new sites and information stations to your customers.
These items are great discussion starters.

The information is out there and available whether you share it or not. By hording it so only you look smart, you'll simply look selfish.

Who can use this "thingy"? How about a Realtor, lawyer, veterinarian, event planner, interior designer, artists, photographers - even political pundits.
