Is This Ad Misplaced?
I know I said this blog is an archive, but this post doesn't fit on ConverStations.
First, what was Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger thinking, riding a motorcycle without a helmet? I'm glad his injury isn't life-threatening. I hope for a quick and healthy recovery - football or no football.
Second, is this the best story to advertise a motorcycle on? Maybe motorcycle gear (like helmets!), but a motorcycle?
Tip of the helmet to Ballbug

Hi Mike.
Funny thing about the accident. While it is bad PR for Ben, it will not do too much damage to his image (and he did not get hurt as badly as he could have.)
The good part of the bad buzz is the fact that it got kids talking about helmets. Last night I was on the playground with my youngest daughter and overheard 3 boys (around 12) talking about ben being an idiot and how he should have worn a helmet.
Ben has a lot of people that care about him because of his meaning to the team, but nearly everyone has at least one or two people that care about them, so why not take an easy precaution?

Hi Ron, I'm relieved that Ben is okay and thrilled to hear that young people are learning from the story.
Interesting how a bad buzz can be a positive depending on one's view. Thanks for sharing the buzz.
