Brand Ownership - Who Cares?

Mike Wagner cares. And he's challenging business leaders and communicators across the country with his OwnYourBrand message.

"Nobody ever waxed a rental car. If you don't own it (your brand), you don't care."

Though he travels across the country with this message, today he threw down the gauntlet to Iowa business communicators at an IABC/Iowa luncheon, warning them to beware of "business sameness."

His clarion call for brands to get out of the middle and either be loved or be hated (while giving due credit to Kathy) is absolutely necessary. If he's speaking near you - go listen (bring a pen).

Hey, don't take my word for it, listen to samples of Mike with one of his Drive Time Tune-Ups.

Full Disclosure: I am privileged to call Mike a friend. Besides, he looks like he could still play linebacker - and I'm no longer willing to go across the middle.

UPDATE: Mark True shares his thoughts on Mike's presentation (different ears, different take-away)
