What Gives Power to the Purse?
The Power of the Purse. I've got the book, though I haven't started it yet. I've bookmarked the blog, though it hasn't started yet.
From the front flap of the book: "Women now influence the vast majority of purchasing decisions -- and every year, they gain direct control over trillions in new wealth."
Where did this power come from? Maybe it's what women are reading and feeding their mind. I'm no longer amazed (just disappointed) when I compare the content of magazines like Ladies' Home Journal and Esquire.
I'd rather read "What Happy People Do Right" than "Howard Stern Rips Us a New One" any day.
Hey, Cindy...where you going with that? That's my Journal! That's okay, I've got More.

I just bought this myself, and haven't started reading it yet, but I'll be interested to know your thoughts as you go!

Hi Brett,
Thus far, the theme seems to be not so much rebrand to focus on women, but find the ways that your current brand or offering is relevant to women.
The book studies business marketing to consumers, but some of these strategies can be translated business-to-busines. Women are making many of the major purchasing decisions in business too.
