What's Plan C?
"The most successful people are those who are good at Plan B." —James Yorke, mathematician, on chaos theory in The New Scientist
Think you're Plan A is a winner? That's great. Make sure you have a good Plan B...but don't stop there. If Plan A gets trashed - because of you or someone else - guess what then becomes Plan A? Now what's missing? Right...your B just became your A...and now you no longer have a Plan B.
That's why it's important to always have a contingency. And another one after that. When a plan bites the dust, plug in the backup and create another one. Always have three in case one gets hurt.
You know what Amos Average and Maddie Mediocrity have for Plan C? "It's not my fault." Isn't it odd (ugly?) how some will have contingency excuses, but not contingency plans that deliver results. My answer if that happens? No problem. I'm prepared.
An ability all winners have - accountability. For everything - EVERYTHING - that happens in your life. As Olympian Dan Gable once said, "Luck is when you win the lottery. Attitude: That's how you win."
Backup plans are the best stress relievers. I've said it here before - "Embrace change before it tackles you."
